So we did this and it worked pretty well. Of course you can follow it exactly or not at all.
People (4-9)
- Diligent note-taker with exact times of each event for the whole rally (1 person needed)
- One videographer for each event, with a decent quality camera (1-4 people needed)
- One or two GOOD camera set-ups for Hyperlapse of whole event (1-2 people needed)
Either Hyperlapse or Trigger Tap (Peter’s Camera) Preferably two for angle variation
- Random photographers for thumbnails, featured image, and event content background. (1-2 people needed)
Shooting b-roll
- 1 - 2 minute clips ONLY. We want to upload straight to Vimeo
- Try to be still
- As close and as informative about the specific performance as possible
- Change angles between performances
- Multiple people can shoot a single performance but only one will be used
- HIGH quality camera. Phones are probably okay but try to check out camcorder
- And maybe tripod
Shooting Hyperlapse
- Since it’ll be of the whole event, place on the ground or on tripod
- Use a HIGH quality camera. Peter has software for any Canon Rebel T3i to do timelapse
- We want the whole event to end up 2-3 minutes long, so play with settings until that happens
Shooting pictures
- Informative, and as clear as possible
- Two forms of coverage for a normal pep rally
- Timeline
Storify
- Everyone who covered it will come back to upload pictures and video for a quick turnaround
- Upload pictures to wordpress or imgur, it doesn’t matter for the timeline
- DON’T UPLOAD ALL THE PICTURES YOU TOOK. See which photos the timeline-maker needs
- Upload b-roll to vimeo with a descriptive title and nothing else
- Note-taker will work with Timeliner to format timecodes and titles while content is being uploaded
- After all content is uploaded,
- Timeliner will insert into timeline and add appropriate credits while
- One or two people work on a Storify.
